Learning Target

Scholars will begin typing their “What Makes a Monster” essay.

Work Session

Welcome to lab 201, everyone! Today you will be typing up the essay you started on Tuesday. Remember, your essay should be about 750 words and needs to answer the question of what makes a monster. You should use three qualities of a monster, and remember to include a counterargument in which you give nonexamples and explain why you are still correct. That’s an important part of the counterargument – explaining that you’re right anyway!

You will have all class to work on typing your essay, and I’ll be coming around to offer help and advice. Good luck everyone!

Closing Session

Essay check in!

Computer Lab Wednesday!

Standard:

Learning Target: Students will finish and type their argumentative essay on Atlanta’s public transportation problems.

Activator: MLA Format in Word 2010

You guys are in the lab today – 201– so we can type and turn in our argumentative essays! I will give you a rubric to staple to your essay, and before you turn it in I want you to self-grade. That means you go through your essay and decide where you think you land on your own rubric. Then, this weekend when I grade them, I’ll decide if I agree with your self-assessment or not. Use this as a chance to see where the flaws in your own writing are, as well, of course, as your strengths.

So, to recap: Your essay is due TODAY!!! It must be turned in TODAY!!! FINISH YOUR ESSAY AND TURN IT IN!!!
